Kazakhstan and Belarus hold similar views on Ukraine crisis, Kazakhstani president’s press service says

ASTANA, March 19 /TASS/. Kazakhstan and Belarus hold similar views on the Ukraine crisis, Kazakhstani President Nursultan Nazarbayev said at a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart who is on an official visit to Astana. "Our stances that no one is benefiting from the current confrontation /in Ukraine/ fully coincide," Nazarbayev’s press service quoted him as saying. Nazarbayev praised Belarus’s contribution to settling the Ukraine crisis, the press service went on to say. During the meeting, the two presidents discussed the key issues of Kazakhstani-Belarusian relations, including cooperation in trade, economy, investment, industrial and agricultural spheres. Nazarbayev and Lukashenko also exchanged views on urgent aspects of the international agenda. "The president of Kazakhstan noted that the two countries had been successfully implementing all the agreements reached within the framework of bilateral cooperation. He called attention to the functioning of a huge number of joint enterprises set up by the two countries. He stressed that this work would continue in future," the press release said. Nazarbayev said that the trilateral meeting would give the presidents of Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus a good chance to discuss urgent issues of current and future cooperation. Read more
