KCNA Commentary Blasts Japan's Shameless Bid to Hide Crime-woven History

Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) -- The chief cabinet secretary of Japan at a recent press conference blustered Korea's claim that Japan should reflect and apologize for its past crimes is unilateral and unacceptable. His remarks clearly show the international community the morally vulgar and true colors of shameless Japan as they are nothing but a cynical ploy to keep the history of Japan's aggression and plunder in Korea buried into oblivion. It is the undeniable historical fact that Japan's past history is woven with unprecedented aggression, massacre and plunder. In the last century the Japanese imperialists illegally occupied Korea after faking up "Ulsa (1905) Five-point Treaty", "Jongmi Seven-Point Treaty" and "Korea-Japan Annexation Treaty". They took 8.4 million Koreans as bullet shields in the shambles of war and slave laborers, killing more than one million Koreans during the colonial rule over Korea. They also abducted at least 200 000 Korean women and forced them into the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army. The Japanese aggressors plundered Korea of resources running into astronomical figures. Not content with this, they even deprived the Koreans of their names and the standard time of the country. The Japanese reactionaries are, however, blatantly challenging the justice of mankind by denying the past crimes and embellishing them, instead of making an apology and reparation. They should properly understand the watchful stand and attitude of the international community towards Japan and the changed balance of forces in Asia, in particular, drop their day dream and make an apology and reparation for their past crimes. -0-
