Kerry: Fears of Iran's cheating on nuclear issue proven unfounded

Tehran, Dec 8, IRNA – US Secretary of State John Kerry has said fears that the Iranians would cheat on nuclear issue have proven to be unfounded thus far, it was reported on Sunday. According to a report by the Associated Press, Kerry made the remarks during a recent address at the Brookings Institution. New ideas on how to achieve a more durable agreement have been presented, Kerry said, hoping that the late March target for a framework would be met with little need for further negotiation. On their last round of nuclear talks in Vienna, the Iranian and Group 5+1 negotiating teams have agreed to extend their talks for another seven months (July 1, 2015). 'We have no intention of negotiating forever,' Kerry said. 'Absent measurable progress, who knows how much longer this could go on.' Referring to the fight against the terrorist group of Daesh (ISIS) in Iraq, Kerry noted that common cause against extremists was already 'making steady measurable progress' against the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq./end
