Kerry says nuclear deal should be kept alive

Berlin, Dec 6, IRNA – US Secretary of State John Kerry has said that the July 2015 nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) should be kept alive, the Western media reported. '... It depends on all of us to keep this alive,' German newspaper 'Firstpost' has quoted Kerry as saying at an event where he was awarded the German Order of Merit here on Monday. Iran's nuclear agreement with world powers last year had made the world safer, Kerry said while rejecting the US President-elect Donald Trump references to the pact as a 'disaster' and 'the worst deal ever negotiated,' the Firstpost wrote. As the German newspaper reported, Kerry has added that President Barack Obama had already approached Trump about the matter. Also during the Mediterranean Dialogues forum in Rome on Sunday, Kerry advised the President-elect Trump's transition team to receive recommendations from the State Department before contacting the foreign leaders. Kerry gave such advice while referring to Trump's Friday controversial call with the Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen. 1378/IRNA
