Khartoum Refuses Zionist Regime Claims Over Sudan Ties With Iran

Khartoum, Oct 30, IRNA - Sudan’s foreign ministry said in a statement released here on Monday that there has been no relation between attacked factory by Zionist regime aircrafts last week and any third country, including Iran. According to dispatches, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sudan asserted that Tehran has no need to manufacture weapons in Sudan, either for Iran or for its allies. 'We want to reject any relation between Sudan's military manufacturing and any foreign partner.' Sudan's Foreign Ministry called Zionist regime an 'outlaw state... trying its best to pass fabricated information through different sources that have a link with Israel, in an effort to provide reasons for its aggression.” 'This includes talk about claimed relations between the al-Yarmouk compound and Iran and Syria, and the Hamas Islamic Resistance Movement in Palestine, and Hezbollah in Lebanon.' Various international organizations including the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) have condemned the recent Israeli air raid on Sudan's military facilities in the capital city of Khartoum. In the statement, NAM underlined its commitment to respect for Sudan's sovereignty, unity, independence and territorial integrity, and condemned the Zionist regime's attack on Yarmouk arms factory in Khartoum. 'The aggression is a serious violation of the UN Charter and a clear contravention of the governments' sovereignty and national integrity principles,' the statement added. Four Israeli warplanes staged an air strike on a military facility in the Sudanese capital on last Wednesday. Following the attack Sudanese Information Minister Ahmed Belal Osman condemned Israel for the attack on the arms factory, and said, 'Four military planes attacked the Yarmouk plant.' He told reporters in Khartoum that the planes appeared to approach the site from the East. Iran on last Thursday condemned the Israeli air strike on Khartoum, and called it a clear violation of international laws. Aggressive action of the Zionist regime warplanes in bombing the Sudanese capital Khartoum on Wednesday is a clear violation of international rules and regulations as well as the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast said. Such an unjustifiable move by the Zionist regime is originated from its brutal nature, he said warning that it would escalate tensions in the region. He reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran, while reminding regional organizations and the bodies supervising the maintenance of international peace and security of their responsibility in this regard, calls on them to adopt an appropriate stand in order to fulfill their great responsibility against the blatant aggression and prevent its repetition in the future. The spokesman further called on the regional countries to remain vigilant and take firm stands against the Zionist regime's aggression against the Muslim country and a member of the Arab League. Israeli officials have accused Khartoum of serving as a base of support for Hamas movement that rules the Gaza Strip./end
