Kim Jong Il's Exploits Lauded by Foreign Figures

Pyongyang, June 17 (KCNA) -- Events took place in various countries on the occasion of the 54th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 18th anniversary of the publication of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration. Meetings, lectures, book and photo exhibitions and film shows took place in Mexico, Switzerland and Uganda from June 9 to 12. Screened at the film shows were Korean films. Benigno Gonzales Villasana, chairperson of the Mexico-Korea Friendship Association, said that Kim Jong Il developed the WPK into an invincible party and led the Korean people to victory in their struggle for defending the country's sovereignty and dignity and provided the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, its practical programme, which serve as the landmark for Korea's reunification. Martin Lotscher, chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee, said that the exploits of Kim Jong Il who built the WPK into the party of the leader and the revolutionary party of Juche type would be immortal. The chairman of the Ugandan National Executive Committee of the Pan-African Movement and other participants stressed that Kim Jong Il regarded the single-minded unity as the revolutionary philosophy of the WPK and further cemented it. A congratulatory message to the respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un was adopted at the event held in Switzerland. -0-
