Kremlin chief of staff to discuss broad range of issues at meeting with his Chinese counterpart - Peskov

MOSCOW, March 21. /TASS/. Kremlin chief of staff Sergey Ivanov and Director of the General Office of the Communist Party of China Li Zhanshu will discuss a broad range of issues at the meeting in China, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday. "Such honest dialogue between Ivanov and his Chinese colleagues is, of course, extremely important," Peskov said. "The agenda is in fact without any restrictions. It includes discussing issues of cooperation between the presidential administration and Chinese Communist Party’s General Office and exchanging opinions on a broad range of questions," he added. "This is a unique format that was for the first time created between Chinese Communist Party’s General Office and a foreign presidential administration, in this case of Russia," he noted. Peskov reminded that Chinese Communist Party’s General Office prepares the majority of important decisions on a broad range of issues. This will be the third meeting between Sergey Ivanov and his counterpart Li Zhanshu, the Kremlin spokesman said. The Kremlin press service said earlier on Monday that Ivanov will visit China on March 24-25 on the invitation of Director of the General Office of the Communist Party of China Li Zhanshu. "The visit will take place in the framework of the cooperation mechanism between administration of the leaders of Russia and China," the press service said. The meeting between Ivanov and Li will focus on the broad range of issues of cooperation between Russia’s Presidential Administration and Chinese Communist Party’s General Office. Ivanov is also expected to make a speech at the opening ceremony of the 2nd Forum of Russian and Chinese Media. Read more
