Kremlin confirms possibility of Japanese prime minister’s visit to Russia in May

MOSCOW, April 6. /TASS/. The visit of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to Russia in May is possible, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Wednesday. "In fact, he may (visit Russia)," Peskov said in response to a question on whether Abe will pay a visit to Russia in the nearest future. "Such possibility is being coordinated. We will make a relevant statement," the Kremlin spokesman noted. Japanese media repeatedly reported that Abe may visit Russia at the end of April or beginning of May to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. On Monday member of the House of Representatives and chairwoman of the Policy Research Council of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party Tomomi Inada said that Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe plans to pay an unofficial visit to Russia.
