Kuwaiti Speaker Urges Expansion Of Iran-Kuwait Ties

Khartoum, Jan 22, IRNA – Kuwaiti Parliament Speaker Ali Fahad al-Rashed on Monday called for development of ties between his country and Iran, hoping that other Persian Gulf littoral states will seek promotion of relations with other countries. In a meeting with Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani on the sidelines of the 8th meeting of the Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union in Khartoum, he added that Iran-Kuwait ties have always been excellent and Kuwait favors promoting bilateral relations. ˈUndoubtedly, Iran is one the main and influential countries in the region and we intend to help promote parliamentary ties between the two countries,ˈ he noted. Al-Rashed called on other countries to solve their problems through dialogue and interaction. Larijani, for his part, described inter-parliamentary ties as excellent, saying that the appointment of al-Rashed as the new speaker of parliament will help further promote mutual relations.
