Kyrgyz Prime Minister meets with WB Senior Vice President

Bishkek, July 11, 2018. / Kabar /. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkaliy Abylgaziev met with Senior Vice President of the World Bank Sendri Okoro. The Kyrgyz Government’s press service reported that during the meeting the sides discussed issues of deepening bilateral cooperation, implementing joint projects aimed at socio-economic development of the Kyrgyz Republic. The prime minister noted that a long-term development strategy is being developed until 2040, which involves the implementation of more active and focused state economic policy. "For this purpose, the program entitled "Unity, Trust, Creation" was developed and approved. Another key program for the Government is the "Concept of the regional policy of the Kyrgyz Republic for the period 2018-2022", which envisages the regional development of selected cities and will be an effective example for other regions,” said Abylgaziev. He also added that within the priorities of the Government for the medium-term, the priority areas for cooperation with international development partners are the implementation of investment projects within the framework of the "Unity, Trust, Creation" medium-term program, as well as priority regional development projects. In turn, Okoro noted that the World Bank supports the efforts of the government aimed at implementing development projects. "Kyrgyzstan has great prospects for improving the economic indicators of the regions. Together with other development partners we are ready to continue providing support to the Kyrgyz people to improve the quality of life and expand opportunities for development, "Okoro said. The Prime Minister and WB Senior Vice President of agreed to continue developing cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the World Bank in achieving the goals and ensuring sustainable development of the country.
