Larijani In Ceremony For Approval Of Tunisian Constitution

Beirut, Feb 8, IRNA – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani participated in a ceremony in Tunis for approval of the Tunisian new Constitution on Friday. At the beginning of the ceremony, the president of Tunisiaˈs National Constituent Assembly, Mustafa bin Jafar presented a report on the process of the approval of the Constitution. President Mohamed Moncef Marzouki, in his speech, appreciated the presence of senior delegations from different countries, including Iran’s parliamentary delegation in the ceremony. Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani, heading the parliamentary delegation attended the event. The inauguration ceremony began by recitation of verses from the Holy Quran followed by playing the Tunisian national anthem. Tunisia’s interim Prime Minister Mehdi Jomaa and France‘s President Francois Hollande then delivered speeches. Mustafa bin Jafar, in his remarks, underlined that Tunisia introduced a democratic transitional process of power which could be a role model for other regional countries./end
