Larijani Congratulates New Libyan National Congress Speaker

Tehran, Aug 14, IRNA -- Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani in a message on Monday congratulated Libyan national congress Speaker Mohammed Yussef Magariaf on his election. In this message, he expressed hope Libya would face a new phase of political life and national sovereignty after the dark period of dictatorship. Larijani also expressed hope Libyan people would successfully form necessary political and legal bodies and a just and democratic system by keeping unity and perseverance. He underlined Iran’s readiness to cooperate with Libya and transfer necessary experiences of compiling constitution and participating in constructing and renovating Libya’s infrastructure. Majlis speaker prayed to Almighty Allah for well-being and prosperity of the Libyan nation and success of El-Magariaf, and eminence of the martyrs of the Libyan revolution. El-Magariaf as the oldest and the most famous opposition of Colonel Gaddafi, has been elected as Speaker of National Congress in the first session./end
