Larijani: Enemy Seeks Further Regional Hegemony

Tehran, May 1, IRNA – Majlis (Parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani said that the enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran have targeted Iran’s economic conditions in order to increase their hegemony in the Middle East region and to try to exploit other countries. Larijani made the remarks in a seminar of the United Front of Principalists in Tehran on Sunday. “After the revolutions of Libya and Egypt, the US was badly defeated and it has now realized that the nations of the region have been awakened,” Majlis speaker added. Referring to the fact that developments of Middle Eastern countries are rooted in Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution, Larijani said that the US is only chanting the slogan of democracy, but it does act in accordance with what it says./end
