Larijani: Enhanced Iran-Japan Ties Help Stabilize Peace, Tranquility

Tehran, Oct 9, IRNA -- Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Monday that expansion of economic and technical cooperation between Iran and Japan will help promote stability and tranquility to the Asian continent. Larijani made the remarks in a meeting with outgoing Japanese Ambassador to Tehran Kinichi Kumano at the end of his tenure. Larijani referred to friendly ties between the two countries and called for expansion of all-out cooperation. He expressed the hope that good relations between Iran and Japan should not be affected by scenarios masterminded by the western countries. He expressed the hope that the two countries would seize opportunity to broaden scope of relations and cooperation more than before. Highlighting significant impact of parliamentary relations on economic cooperation, he called for expansion and consolidation of parliamentary relations. Referring to regional developments, Larijani highlighted the significant role of Japan in the Asian continent and said expansion of relations and cooperation between Iran and Japan will be to the benefit of entire Asia. Outgoing Japanese ambassador, for his part, referred to Iranian rich culture and civilization and said Japan underlines the significant and constructive role of Iran in Asia. Expansion of cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran is among top priorities of Japan's foreign policy, he said.
