Larijani: Iran Pleased Over Disputes Decrease In Iraq

Tehran, July 11, IRNA – Majlis (Parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani, in a meeting with Leader of Iraq’s Islamic Supreme Council Ammar Hakim, said that Iran is pleased over reduction of disputes in Iraq. 'Iraqi people have been under pressure, deprivation and cruelty for several decades and now after collapse of Saddam Hussein and pullout of alien forces, the country should start rebuilding and Iran is ready to present its cooperation in all fields,' the speaker told his Iraqi visitor. He underlined necessity of promotion of bilateral ties between parliaments of both countries, adding that the two sides have constructive relations. Larijani said now that Iraq is the chairman of Arab League, there is expectation for using the opportunity to create stability and security in the region. Ammar Hakim, for his part, presented a report on current developments in Iraq and consolidation of stability and security in the country in spite of alien interferences./end
