Larijani: Negotiations, a venue to practice logic

Tehran, Feb 10, IRNA – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said negotiations table is the place to practice rationality and logic. Addressing a gathering of foreign guests attending the Islamic Revolution victory anniversary celebrations here on Tuesday, he said talks are also a chance to do away with misunderstandings. He said political discussions were useful in tackling misunderstandings. 'They say that Iran has stopped its nuclear technology program,' he noted. Well, if uttering these words helps them solve their domestic problems, then let them use the utterances, Larijani said. However, he stressed, if they really believe in what they say, then they have to understand that they will have problems because of uttering these words because Iran's nuclear technology is not an achievement to be abandoned by Iran. Addressing US officials, he said if they are saying this to put pressures on Iran in the next rounds of talks, they should know that they are following the wrong path and have mistaken the field of negotiations with a vegetable market. He explained that the field of negotiations is the place where people have to persuade other parties, while in a vegetable market people have merchant's manner and behave fancifully. The Iranian speaker also said the present conditions of the Islamic World is highly sensitive and agitated which calls for further dialogue on the part of experts in making big decisions for the Islamic ummah. Terrorism and violence, he added, are contaminating the whole Islamic states, noting that terrorism is an evil phenomenon which is damaging Islam and the Islamic ummah from many aspects. Larijnai believed waves of terrorism are wasting the energies of the Islamic ummah and said, 'By now they are after sowing discord within the Muslim communities to stop their unity.' All these plots, he added, are hatched by big powers to divert the minds from the issue of Palestine. He said terrorism and Zionism are the two blades of a single scissors which are going to inflict damages on Muslims.
