Larijani Reacts To Zionists Vicious Act Of Destroying Al-Aqsa Mosque

Tehran, Oct 20, IRNA – Speaker of the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) Ali Larijani strongly criticized the Zionist regimes latest move to destroy parts of the Al-Aqsa Moaque in Bayt-al-Muqaddas to build a synagogue stressing that Zionists would soon receive due response for such an "insidious measure." Latest reports coming from the occupied lands indicate that the Zionist regime’s deputy minister of religious affairs plans to build a new Synagogue in the Eastern Wing of the Al Aqsa Mosque compound. The plan would divide the compound taking one fifth for the Jews in order to perform their religious rituals there. Referring to the significance of the mosque as the first Qiblah (direction of prayer) for Muslims, Larijani said that Zionists have made such a move benefiting from the chaotic situation in the region. “On the one hand, there is the extremist current of Takfirism trying to sow discord among Muslims and eliminating Islamic sites and, on the other hand, there are Zionists who are destroying the Al-Aqsa Mosque to build a synagogue. Such acts hurt sentiments of the world’s Muslims,” said the speaker in his address to Majlis open session on Sunday. He urged the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) as well as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and Muslim states to seriously react against the moves of the Zionist regime. Larijani also urged Iran’s Foreign Ministry to react against the Zionists’ move./end
