Larijani Urges Palestinians To Stay Vigilant Against New Compromise Plans

Tehran, July 21, IRNA - Speaker of the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) Ali Larijani urged Palestinian revolutionary groups Sunday to stay vigilant against ˈfalse gestures of certain regional statesˈ. Larijani also called on various Palestinian groups to try to ˈidentify extremist groups that have nothing to do but helping accomplish Wetˈs plansˈ in the region. Addressing Majlis open session this morning, the speaker said recent measures made by the US and a number of its western allies were new compromise plans in the occupied Palestine. Criticizing those measures, he said they have not even mentioned the issue of halting construction of the Zionist settlements in the occupied lands. Since the very beginning of the regional conflicts, Iran has ˈwarned regional states that the Zionist regime is not after democracy but is interested in creating tensions and damaging the axis of resistance,ˈ said the speaker. He added that by triggering tensions in Egypt and Syria, West and its allies are seeking an opportunity to serve the interest of the Zionist regime. ˈWest is not to solve the problem in Egypt or Syria,ˈ Larijani stressed, urging Palestinian revolutionary groups to ˈstop new tricks with their persistenceˈ. He also expressed hope that on this yearˈs Qods Day, Muslims would give a strong response to ˈWestˈs new hypocrisyˈ. The International Qods Day, is an annual event commemorating since 1979 to protest against the Israeli occupation of Palestine. The event which is also commemorated in several world countries, is held on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan which falls this year on August 2./end
