Latvian FM to visit Tehran soon

TEHRAN,Apr.19(MNA) – Latvian Foreign Minister Edgar Rinkevich is scheduled to pay an official visit to Iran in the near future. The Latvian diplomat will head a high-ranking political and economic delegation to Tehran and will hold a number of meetings with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif, President Hassan Rouhani, and Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani on a range of issues. It would be the first visit of a high ranking official of the north European country to Iran since it declared the restoration of independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. Latvia is a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the European Union, the United Nations, Council of Europe, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the World Trade Organization (WTO).
