Lavrov to discuss Syria, anti-terror efforts during his visit to Turkey on November 25 - Zakharova

MOSCOW, November 19. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will make a visit to Turkey on November 25 to take part in the fifth meeting of the Russian-Turkish joint strategic planning group, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday. "The two sides will exchange views on the wide range of the most topical bilateral, regional and international problems," the diplomat said, adding, "The program of the talks envisages an exchange of views on the developments in Syria, and in the region of the Middle East and North Africa. They will discuss the Cyprus settlement." According to Zakharova, the participants in the talks will focus on the enhancement of counter-terrorism efforts. "The two parties will continue the dialog over the situation in Ukraine, South Caucasus, and Central Asia," the spokeswoman said. "During the talks, the two ministers will discuss matters, which may be included in an agenda of the high-level cooperation council’s next meeting," she said. Read more
