Lavrov hopes Kiev has no intention to disrupt humanitarian operation

MOSCOW, August 19 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has expressed the hope that delays in providing security guarantees are not an attempt by Kiev or other forces to disrupt the most important humanitarian operation. In a telephone conversation with International Red Cross President Peter Maurer Lavrov recalled that “the situation in the areas of hostilities from the standpoint of providing food, water and electricity for the population is getting worse day in day out,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said afterwards. “Infrastructures are being ruined, sick people remain without medicines and children without food, and many localities lack essentials.” “Urgent delivery of the Russian humanitarian aid now is as important as never before,” the Foreign Ministry said.
