Lavrov-Kerry meeting to be held in Lima November 17 - Ryabkov

MOSCOW, November 16. /TASS/. A meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry will take place on November 17 in the capital of Peru, Lima, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on Wednesday. "The meeting will be held in Lima on November 17," he said. Ryabkov noted that Lavrov and Kerry will discuss the US sanctions policy towards Russia during their meeting in Lima. "It is clear that anti-Russian policy will not be revised under Obama. However, the issue has become relevant once again," he said. "I am sure that the minister will discuss it with the US Secretary of State fundamentally." Lima will host a summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum on November 17-23. APEC is an international forum bringing together the world’s 21 leading economies to cooperate in trade and economic development in the region. The forum’s main objective until 2020 is creating a system of free trade and liberal investment regime in the Asia-Pacific region. Both Russia and the US are involved in the APEC work. Russian representative taking part in the APEC summits use this opportunity not only to hold general discussions but also have individual conversations with their foreign counterparts. Read more
