Lavrov to meet with Armenian president during his visit to Yerevan April 21-22 - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW, April 19. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will pay an official visit to Yerevan on April 21 and 22, the Russian Foreign Ministry has said. "The agenda of the visit includes meeting with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, talks with Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, wreath-laying at the eternal flame in the Tsitsernakaberd Armenian genocide memorial complex," the ministry said. "During the talks with Armenian partners the two sides are due to discuss a wide range of issues on the bilateral, regional and international agenda," the Russian Foreign Ministry noted. "Particular attention will be paid to the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement in view of the recent aggravation of the situation in the conflict zone." Earlier on Tuesday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a news conference that Lavrov would visit Yerevan on April 22 to discuss the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. She noted that during his visit Lavrov would hold a series of bilateral negotiations, adding that the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement will be one of the central issues at the talks. Read more
