Lavrov states positive changes in nuclear issue of Korean Peninsula

HO CHI MINH CITY, February 25. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated positive changes in the settlement of the nuclear problem on the Korean Peninsula, speaking at the conference "International Cooperation in a Troubled World." "There are positive changes in the issue of the nuclear problem of the Korean Peninsula, but it is still far from being solved," the Russian foreign minister said. In 2017, an inter-Korean summit was held in Panmunjom, the demilitarized zone that separates the two countries, for the first time in more than 10 years. After that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in met two more times and signed a joint declaration in which they agreed to take measures on further denuclearization.
