Lavrov to take part in CIS top diplomats’ meeting in Bishkek

MOSCOW, March 26. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will take part in a meeting of foreign ministers of CIS countries in Bishkek on April 3, Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said on Thursday. "On April 3, Lavrov will arrive in Bishkek, where he will take part in a meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers," he said. "The top diplomats will discuss the aspects of the multi-faceted cooperation and exchange views on pressing international and regional issues." Lukashevich added that the ministers were planning to adopt a joint statement on the 40th anniversary of the Helsinki Final Act. "A draft agreement on the prevention of emergency situations will be discussed as well," the diplomat said. "A program to strengthen cross-border cooperation on CIS external borders is likely to be adopted." Read more
