Leader extends accolade to ‘American marines arrest case’

TEHRAN, Jan. 25 (MNA) – Leader of the Islamic Revolution praised the IRGC Navy staff for their ‘timely and laudable’ response to American marines’ trespassing Iranian territorial waters in Persian Gulf. Ayatollah Khamenei received the staff on Sunday; “the event was really a heavenly blessing,” the Leader famously said. “The arrest of the American marines was intrepid and had roots in the staff’s commitment to the IRGC Navy’s collective mission; the Heavenly hands lured the Americans to our waters so that you arrest them with their hands on their heads,” the Leader told the IRGC Navy staff. On January 13, two American boats carrying 10 marines were arrested by the IRGC Navy staff on the grounds that they were trespassing Iranian territorial waters in the vicinity of Farsi Island of the Persian Gulf. The American marines were freed only when IRGC confirmed that technical problems had caused trespassing into Iranian waters and after they apologized for the intursion.
