Leader: Iran's proposal to solve the issue of Palestine 'based on democracy'

TEHRAN, Jun. 11 (MNA) – Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said the rationale of Iran's proposal for solving the issue of Palestine is based on democracy. A group of university professors, intellectuals, and researchers met with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei on the 25th day of the auspicious month of Ramadan this evening, June 10, 2018. The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, while meeting with a group of university professors and scholars said "we are a country that has the most number of enemies among arrogant states and useless powers in the world now, and we have the most amount of supporters among the public in many countries." Ayatollah Khamenei went on to say "no other country is as popular and dignified as the Islamic Republic is among so many countries, including neighboring countries and beyond. As a result, it has determined and evil enemies." The Leader of the Revolution reminded the audience of the cruelity inflicted by the Zionist regime by stating "now imagine the most cruel person of our time, the child-murderer prime minister of the Zionist Regime goes to Europe and plays innocent, saying Iran wants to destroy them." Referring to Israel as pioneers of oppression he added: "They are truly pioneers in oppression and cruelty throughout history. The European addressee listens and shakes his head, without mentioning their crimes in Gaza and Quds." The Leader of the Revolution mentioned Iran's solution for solving matters of Palestine "the Islamic Republic acts logically on all matters. On the matter of the Zionist Regime, Jamal Abdul-Nasser proclaimed they would throw the Jewish people into the sea. We never made such remarks: from day one, we announced a plan. We said, today democracy is a modern method that the entire world’s population agrees on. We said, for decision making on the historical country of Palestine, refer to the Palestinian people. This plan is registered with the United Nations as the statement of the Islamic Republic. Those who are true Palestinians and have been living in Palestine over a hundred years ago--Muslims, Christians and Jews--where ever they are, either in the occupied lands or outside of them. They should be surveyed. Their vote should be applied. Is this a bad opinion? The Europeans refuse to understand this. Then, that child-murderer, vicious oppressor plays innocent, saying Iran wants to kill several million people out of their population." Requirements of the university's action toward strengthening the country's wisdom The Leader of the Islamic Revolution turned his attention to the University professors and scholars by stating "universities are very important centers for strengthening the country's wisdom. Professors play a crucial role in strengthening this wisdom. If universities want to perform this role efficiently, they should respect certain requirements: 1. Involvement of the universities with the countries problems and important challenges 2. Cultural, ethical, and identical education of the students 3. Constant evolution and improvement in the universities. "We must change the approach of "consuming knowledge" to an approach of "producing knowledge." Till when are we going to be consumers of others' knowledge? We are not embarrassed to learn from a knowledgeable person, but learning is different from imitating. Why, when just the thought of Islamic human sciences is mentioned, some say this is not science?" Ayatollah Khamenei added "Experiemental sciences, the results of which can be tested in laboratories, are day after day revealed to be mistaken. Then, what do you expect from the humanities? How much contradiction exists in economy, philosophy, management and other sciences?" "Knowledge is what you achieve and is produced by your thoughts," he said. The Leader of the Revolution continued: "Just like we consume others' products, we consume others' knowledge; but it cannot last forever. Sometimes others' knowledge is not transferred appropriately, sometimes the best part is not transferred, sometimes updated or new knowledge is not provided. These things have happened during the Pahlavi regime, several times. Hence, we must produce knowledge."
