Leader Of World Armenians Hail Iranˈs Efforts To Protect Armeniansˈ Rights

Beirut, June 26, IRNA -- The spiritual Leader of the World Armenians Archbishop Jasliq Aram on Tuesday praised Iranˈs efforts to provide the Armenian community in Iran with civil rights and religious freedoms. He made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Ayatollah Gholamali Naimabadi, Iranian Supreme Leaderˈs representative to Hormuzgan Province of Iran. Iranian ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi was also present in the meeting. Jasliq Aram recalled to his meeting with Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in 1997, in which Ayatollah Khamenei had assured him about respecting the rights of Armenian community in Iran. He once more congratulated Iranian president-elect Hassan Rohani on landslide victory in presidential elections of Iran, saying Armenians living in Iran are ready to make every effort, along with Iranian officials for success of the Islamic Republic as before. Ayatollah Naimabadi, for his part, pointed to the better standard of life of Armenians in Iran, saying itˈs due to two reasons. Firstly, because of general view of the Islamic Republic which is based on Islamic guidelines requiring national solidarity and secondly, because of very good behavior of Armenians during Iranˈs history.
