Lebanese Ex-president Hails Iran’s Role In Resolving Regional Crises

Beirut, Oct 23, IRNA – Lebanons former president Emile Lahoud said on Tuesday that Iran’s influential role in regional issues has brought the Middle East closer to ending big crises facing the region. Addressing a group of Friends of Resistance Movement, Lahoud praised the existing unity among Lebanese people and the courage of the country’s army to thwart the Zionists plots. The former Lebanese president expressed pleasure with the increasing power of Resistance Movement in confronting Zionist regimes strikes and terrorist acts in Lebanon. Referring to recent remarks by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in an interview with Lebanese Al-Mayadeen television, Lahoud said that the Syrian president indicated his country’s resolve to continue resistance against terrorists until complete victory. As Syrian forces are regaining areas under control of terrorist groups, Lahoud said that signs of Syria’s victory and humiliating defeat of Western-led militants in the country have become evident to the world./end
