Lebanese FM: World Interests Is In Joint Co-op In Fight Against Terrorism

Beirut, June 28, IRNA – Lebanese Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil said that terrorism is not only threat to the countries of the region and it turned out to be a danger for the whole world, so world communityˈs interests is in joint cooperation in fight against this threat. In a meeting with Iranˈs Ambassador to Beirut Mohammad Fathali here on Friday, Bassil by underlining the current sensitive situations in the region said that a big danger from the terrorist groups is aiming stability and security in the region. He added that Iran has a very important role in fight against terrorism and continued that the dangerous phenomenon should be uprooted by joint cooperation of the countries of the region and world. Referring to excellent ties between the two countries , Bassil expressed his countryˈs readiness for the expansion of cooperation with Iran in dimensions of bilateral and international issues. Fathali, for his part, underlined Iranˈs principle policy in support for stability and security in Lebanon and condemned terrorist efforts to create insecurity in Lebanon. Referring to religious, clan and political groups diversity in Lebanon, Fatahali said Iranˈs policy is to interact with all political trends in Lebanon./end
