Lebanese PM: Iran, G5+1 Agreement Affects Lebanon Very Positively

Beirut, March 1, IRNA – Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam underlined that Iran’s nuclear agreement with Group 5+1 had positive effect on Lebanon political scene. He made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian parliamentary delegation here on Friday. Salam praised Iran’s undeniable role in the region and called for Iran’s help for his government. He appreciated felicitation messages of Iranian officials and said that the new Lebanese government had been formed upon cooperation of Lebanese groups and domestic parties and without any foreign interference. Majlis head of national security and foreign policy commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi, who is heading the parliamentary delegation, felicitated appointment of Tammam Salam as Lebanon new Prime Minister. He expressed hope that the new government can solve problems in the country, especially security issues. Boroujerdi also appreciated recent achievements of Lebanese security officials in arresting terrorist elements, some of whom had role in terrorist operation against Iran’s embassy in Beirut. He also submitted message of Iran’s First Vice-President Es-haq Jahangiri to Lebanese Prime Minister.
