Lebanese PM: Iran-Lebanon Ties Must Be Expanded

Beirut, Oct 3, IRNA -- Lebanese Prime Minister Najeeb Mikati said on Tuesday Lebanon does its utmost to implement agreements already signed with Iran and expand ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran. He made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Ghazanfar Roknabadi. Pointing to his meeting with President Ahmadinejad on the sidelines of United Nations General Assembly, the prime minister said he held fruitful talks with Iranian president. Mikati said Lebanon is willing to remove obstacles in the way of expanding mutual ties. He discussed the regional, international and mutual issues with Roknabadi, especially Syrian crisis and preparing ground for private sectors to develop trade and economic cooperation between the two countries./end
