Lebanon Min. Stresses On Security Of Iranian Offices In Lebanon

Beirut, Feb 23, IRNA – Lebanese new Interior Minister Nohad Mashnouq, in a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador to Beirut Ghazanfar Roknabadi here on Saturday, underlined necessity of providing security for diplomatic sites, embassy and other Iranian offices in Lebanon. In the meeting, al-Mashnouq also called for following up the issue of attack against Iran’s embassy and cultural attaché office and arresting main perpetrators of the terrorist action. He said establishment of government in Lebanon was a positive step to decrease challenges and strengthening security in the country. The two sides also discussed the latest developments in Lebanon and the region. Roknabadi, by referring to cooperation between security bodies, praised measures of the Lebanese Interior Ministry and Lebanon Intelligence body and was informed on the latest investigations concerning recent terrorist acts. He also underlined Iran’s steady policy in direction of helping create stability and security in Lebanon./end
