Lebanon President : West Must Base Its Interaction With Iran On S.Leader's Edict Against N-arms

Beirut, May 29, IRNA - Lebanese President Michel Suleiman said on Monday the West should base its interaction with Iran on the Supreme Leader's edict against nuclear arms. Based on Islamic teachings and the clear fatwa (edict) of the Supreme leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, the production and use of weapons of mass destruction is haram (forbidden) and have no place in the Islamic Republic of Iran’s defense doctrine. Regarding the ban on nuclear bombs in Iran, Suleiman said the West should take into consideration the edict issued from the highest level of Iranian leadership and refrain from raising baseless charges against Iran. He made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Ghazanfar Roknabadi who had called on him to submit President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's message. Appreciating the message and extending his high regards to the Supreme Leader Khamenei and President Ahmadinejad, the Lebanese president expressed his country's readiness to follow up the implementation of agreements already signed by the two countries./end
