Lebanon, Priority For Iranˈs Red Crescent Society

Tehran, May 20, IRNA – Iran gives priority to cooperate with other countriesˈ Red Crescent and Red Cross societies, that of Lebanon in particular, said the visiting head of Iranˈs Red Crescent Society Monday evening. Mohammad Farhadi made the remarks while addressing a local gathering in Beirut which was also attended by Iranˈs ambassador to Lebanon, senior officials from the Lebanese Red Cross, and a number of Lebanese figures. Farhadi said based on a letter of understanding signed three years ago between the Iranian Red Crescent Society and Lebanese Red Cross, the two are to cooperate in the fields of patient treatment, training of aid workers and exchange of mutual experiences. The document will remain valid until 2020. Farhadi also voiced Tehranˈs readiness to help the Lebanon-residing refugees./end
