Left Front To Protest US Move To Deploy Naval Fleet In Asia-Pacific

New Delhi, June 5, IRNA – The Left Front would organize protests against US move to deploy naval fleet in the Asia-Pacific region. Amid reports that the United States of America will deploy a majority of its naval fleet in the Asia-Pacific region, Biman Bose, Chairman of the West Bengal Left Front Committee, said in Kolkata, capital of West Bengal state, on Monday that the announcement was reminiscent of the developments during the Second World War and the Left would organize protests against imperialism. The manner in which the US announced an increased presence of its Navy in the region identifying China and South-East Asia as a “strategic area” reeks of imperialistic designs, an English daily hindu reported. The Left Front will protest against this re-emergence of Imperialism, Bose told journalists after a meeting of the State Left Front Committee during the day. He said the date for the protests had not been finalised, but the Left Front would invite other Leftist forces that are not a part of the Front to participate in the protests./end
