Lian Heading To Moscow

Tehran, June 23, IRNA -- Iranian composer and the head of ˈLianˈ folk music ensemble, Mohsen Sharifian, will perform pieces in the 12th traditional international music festival, known as ˈThe Universe of Soundˈ hosted by Moscow Conservatory. The festival is an annual event in which musicians from a number of countries including those from Russia, India, Malt and Colombia perform pieces, according to Iran Dailyˈs Monday edition. Sharifian is to take part in the fest playing the bagpipe. He is scheduled to perform a duet with a well-known Russian pianist in a concert titled ˈI Have Brought You the Scent of Seaˈ on June 28, 2014. Iranian musician, Farhad Safari, on percussions will accompany the group in the performance. Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory has been holding the annual international music festival since 2003. Its concept exhibits the most important trends in the world culture development during our century, among which are peopleˈs sharp need to unite in the face of global challenges, as well as their aspiration for tolerance and common ground based on respect for their neighborsˈ ways of life and originality of cultures. This will be the third time that Sharifian is performing musical pieces in Moscow. He had earlier played the bagpipe and piano at Vahdat Hall.
