Livestock sphere winter preparation is almost complete

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Acting Minister of Industry and Agriculture Sh.Tuvdendorj informed the cabinet on its meeting of November 21 that the preparation for 2014-2015 winter has been satisfied in a level to provide a wintering for 50 million livestock of 142.5 thousand families or 80 million heads of livestock as converted into sheep population. According to pastures capacity study, the grazing fields are sufficient in 76 percent of the total territory, and the herders in the rest of the territory are planning to graze their livestock in other aimags. Based on the assumptions of the grazing capacity, drinking water access, hay production, organization of encampments, preparation of herding families, and inspection of livestock fattening, the livestock sector's preparation for the winter is going with 90 percent, he said.
