Majlis Entitled To Decide On Additional Protocol To NPT : Majlis Vice-speaker

Tehran, Feb 25, IRNA – Majlis is entitled to decide about the Additional Protocol to Non-Proliferation Treaty in the final step of nuclear talks considering the course of negotiations and national interests, Majlis Vice-Speaker Mohammad-Hassan Abutorabi-Fard said on Monday. According to Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran, all the agreements the government signs with foreign governments must be approved by Majlis. Abutorabi-Fard told IRNA that the Iranian negotiating team in the second-step negotiations with representatives of P5+1 in Vienna insisted on Iranian nationˈs legitimate right to develop nuclear technology for peaceful purpose. Asked about failure of the US officials to honor terminology of the interim agreement they signed in Geneva on November 24, he said that the US has showed in the past that it feels no respect for legitimate rights of other nations. ˈWe should see how the Americans will act in the future,ˈ he said./end
