Majlis Reviews Syria Developments, Tehran-Ankara Ties

Tehran, April 9, IRNA - Majlis Commission on National Security and Foreign Policy on Sunday reviewed Syria developments and Tehran-Ankara ties. Deputy Head of the Commission Hojjatoleslam Hussein Ebrahimi told IRNA that Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi appeared in Majlis and briefed the lawmakers on the latest developments in Syria and Tehran-Ankara ties. “Salehi described the istuation in Syria as acceptable and added that most of the problems facing Syria have been removed,” he said. Ebrahimi quoted Salehi as saying that some Syrian dissidents were changign their stands in favor of Syrian President Bashar Assad. The lawmaker also quoted Salehi as saying that Iran and Turkey were continuing their consultations in this regard./end
