Maneuver 'Velayat 91', A Display Of Iran's Defensive Ability

Tehran, Jan 2, IRNA – Navy Commander called maneuver 'Velayat 91' as a display of Iran's navy defensive abilities and a message of peace and friendship to regional countries. Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, in a live interview with IRIB Channel 2 on Tuesday evening, said that the aim of maneuver is to show Iran's naval ability in maintaining security in areas such as Hormuz Straight, Oman Sea and north of Indian Ocean. He added that 100 percent growth in Iran's naval ability in using submarines and torpedoes was displayed in the war game. Maneuver 'Velayat 91' started on December 28, 2012 and lasts for six days./end
