Meeting at AZERTAC: Chinese scientist says will include Azerbaijani realities in his book about consequences of terrorism

Baku, October 25, AZERTAC Director-General of the Institute of Chinese Borderland Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Xing Guangcheng has said close relations between Xinhua and Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) contributes considerably to the development of Azerbaijan-China relations. Xing Guangcheng led a delegation of experts from China`s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region as they met with Chairman of the Board of AZERTAC Aslan Aslanov. Xing Guangcheng stressed the importance of the meetings the delegation held in Baku, saying their visit aims to increase awareness of the two nations of the realities of Azerbaijan and China and to foster the exchange in the fields of culture, history and religion. He highlighted prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and China`s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in a variety of areas, including media. Chairman of the Board of AZERTAC Aslan Aslanov hailed Azerbaijan-China relations. He said both countries contribute enormously to the huge projects linking Asia and Europe. Aslan Aslanov recalled his visit to Beijing where he attended the first Media Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, his meetings with Xinhua President Cai Mingzhao and Editor-in-Chief He Ping. Aslan Aslanov noted that AZERTAC and Xinhua make considerable contribution to strengthening ties between the two nations. Research Fellow at China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations Li Wei said he is now writing a book on the consequences of terrorism, adding that it will highlight crimes committed not only in China but also in other parts of the world. Aslan Aslanov expressed hope that Li Wei will study the terrorist acts committed by Armenia against Azerbaijan and include them in his book. “Azerbaijan has been suffering from the Armenian terrorism for many years. Armenia occupied 20 percent of our lands, more than million Azerbaijanis became refugees and IDPs. All the cultural, historic, national monuments, mosques in the occupied territories were destroyed. Armenia committed a monstrous genocide in the Azerbaijani town of Khojaly in front of the eyes of the international community, murdering a total of 613 civilians, including 106 women, 70 elders, and 63 children in just one night. I think that it is very important to promote the Chinese readers` awareness of these facts,” said Aslan Aslanov. Li Wei said he will conduct a research into Armenia`s terror acts and barbarism against the Azerbaijani people and include these realities in his book. Chinese ambassador to Azerbaijan Wei Jinghua, public figures and journalists were present at the meeting.
