Meeting with DPRK envoy to create conditions for six-party talks on nuclear problem - Lavrov

MOSCOW, November 20. /TASS/. The meeting with the visiting special envoy of the DPRK leader will help bring about conditions for six-party talks on the nuclear problem, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said after a meeting with Kim Jong-un's representative, member of the Politburo Presidium of the Workers’ Party of Korea, chief of the WPK Secretariat Choe Ryong Hae. Political relations between Russia and North Korea have lately intensified. “You had a substantive talk with Russian President Vladimir. In pursuance of the principles issues, which were discussed at the meeting, today we intend to have concrete talks on bilateral relations and international issues,” Lavrov said. “We have many concrete plans in trade, economic and investment fields, including in the multilateral format with the involvement of South Korean partners,” he said. “I am certain that our contacts will yield real benefits for our countries and that our meeting will become an important factor for our joint efforts for the sake of strengthening security in the region of Northeast Asia and the creation of conditions for a resumption of six-party talks over the nuclear issue in the Korean Peninsula,” Lavrov said.
