Mehmanparast: IRNA, Most Effective News Agency In Iran

Tehran, Nov. 1, IRNA - Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast described on Wednesday the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) as the most effective news agency in Iran. He was talking to IRNA on the sidelines of the second Meeting of the Press and News Agencies of the Union of the Islamic World which kicked off on Tuesday in the Iranian capital. Pointing to western media's attempts to offer a negative image of Iran to world public opinion, Mehmanparast said Iranian media must be strong, professional and very active in international arena to nullify enemies' conspiracies by observing humanitarian principles and values. He said IRNA as the most effective news agency of Iran is a reliable source and quite able to promote Iran's stance in domestic and international arenas. The two-day media event are being held on the sidelines of the 19th International Exhibition of the Press and News Agencies that kicked off on October 28 at Imam Khomeini Prayers Ground in Tehran.
