Member Of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood Calls For Restoration Of Ties With Iran

Tehran, Feb 18, IRNA – Jamal Heshmat, member of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood and former lawmaker on Sunday called for restoration of ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran to enjoy Iran’s experience and technological know-how. He said that Egypt’s former regime had severed ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran in absence of strategic considerations. He called for making use of Iranian science and technology, saying it will be possible through resuming ties with Iran. In the meantime, he highlighted Iran-Egypt longstanding relations. He made the remarks following a letter written by several Iranian scientists to Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi in which they had expressed willingness to transfer their experiences to Egypt./end
