Militants Storm Judges, Lawyers Chambers, Kill 11 In Islamabad

Islamabad, March 3, IRNA – At least 11 people were killed and up to 35 injured as a group of suicide bombers opened fire in lawyers’ chambers in the Pakistani capital Islamabad on Monday, hospital and police officials said. The Islamabad police chief said that bombers blew themselves up to avoid arrest. It was not clear that which group had been involved in the attack in the highly sensitive area. Doctors at the city’s main hospital said that some women were also among the injured. Witnesses told the media that first several gunmen threw hand grenades and then started indiscriminate firing on the judges, lawyers and passersby. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. The incident occurred just two days after the Taliban declared ceasefire for a month. The government also suspended airstrikes against the militants./end
