Military official: Iran’s armed forces well aware of US military positions in ME

TEHRAN, May 26 (MNA) – The Head of Iranian Army’s Strategic Studies Center Brigadier General Pourdastan says that Iran’s armed forces are very well aware of the United States military positions in the Middle East region. “We know exactly how many and what kind of airplanes are in the airbases across the Arab countries… We also know all the warships in the Persian Gulf and its neighborhood and the features of each one of them,” Brigadier General Ahamdreza Pourdastan said before the Friday prayers began in the holy city of Mashhad in northeast Iran. “…we know very well how many ISIL members are operating in Afghanistan, and who their ringleaders are,” Pourdastan added. He noted that the Iranian armed forces are ready to defend the nation and confront different kinds of threats, adding they will not be surprised by any attacks. He also stated that Iran will not be the first country to start a war, but in case there is a threat anywhere against the Islamic Establishment of Iran, the Iranian armed forces will not hesitate to take action. The Iranian military official further added that most of the defense equipment is produced domestically by the Iranian military experts.
