Min.: US-West Interest In Dialog With President Testifies Iran Power

Tehran, Oct 1, IRNA – Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, Hossein Dehqan, said on Monday that interest of the US and the West in negotiations with Iran indicates power, dignity and authority of our nation. Referring to the president’s last week visit to New York to participate in the 68th UN General Assembly, Dehqan said that Iranian nation is in a position prompting the US President Barack Obama to make contact with the Iranian president to hear the nation’s voice saying that he respects the Islamic Republic and the nation. He touched on phone conversation between the Iranian and US presidents, saying that there might be different attitude toward what happened last week; however, the goodwill gesture and invitation made by the US president to meet President Rohani and the approach of the western and European heads of state, who lined up to meet Rohani, has no other meaning but power, authority and respect for the nation.” He noted that the Iranian nation would pass through the current path with dignity and honor./end
