Mine blast kills three troops in southeast Turkey


HAKKARI (A.A) - August 28, 2011 - Three Turkish troops were killed and two others were wounded Sunday when a mine went off in southeast Turkey.
The blast occurred while the passing of a military convoy in Semdinli town of the province of Hakkari, Muammer Turker, the governor, said.
Turker said an operation was underway in the area to hunt down terrorists.
In a separate incident on Sunday, Turkish security forces killed two PKK terrorists as they attempted to plant a mine on a road near Hakkari's Daglica town, the governor said.
