Mineral and Technological Institute to be established

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A Mongolia-Germany joint Institute of Minerals and Technology will be established in Mongolia. A memorandum on it was signed Wednesday by Sh.Bulga-Erdene, the State Secretary of Mongolia’s Ministry of Education and Science, and by Gudrun Kopp, the Parliamentary State Secretary to Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. The sides state that the joint institute will become a state-owned higher educational organization which satisfies the European standards and ensures a participation of state organizations, private sector and other partners. As the sides have agreed, the lessons will start from the 2013-2014 academic year. Ms Kopp said the main purpose of this institute is to prepare highly skilled professionals, and that the German side will give EUR 4 million to the institute in the first turn. It has been planned to enroll 100 students in the first turn in September, said L.Gantomor, the Minister of Education and Science.
